Wine Description & Tasting Notes
Planted in 1971, Astley Vineyard is a family run, single estate vineyard in Worcestershire. They are one of the oldest vineyards in the UK, located in the beautiful Severn valley, just 10 miles north of the cathedral city of Worcester.
Their Madeleine Angevine was planted in 1979 and produces floral, soft wines. This warm vintage is a stark contrast to the last – big, rich & bold.
Grape Varieties: 90% Madeleine Angevine, 7% Bacchus, 3% Siegerrebe
Nose: Rich aromas of spiced apples and pear with a delicate touch of blossoms
Palate: Soft, juicy and aromatic notes of spiced orchard fruits with elegant levels of acidity leading to a floral finish.
Food Pairings: Perfect on its own, but pairs wonderfully with grilled chicken and more delicate fish such as seabass or bream.
Wine GB West Awards Silver Medal: “Citrus, spicy, nuttiness, blossom, apple on nose. Apple, white peach – juicy on palate.”
