Wine Description & Tasting Notes
Meursault is a large village in the Cote de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy. It is Meursault’s reliably high-quality Premier Cru and commune-level wines that are responsible for its good reputation.
The wine is produced using the traditional methods of Burgundy. After a very slow pressing to respect fruit, the wine goes into French oak barrels for maturing during 12 months, with up to 15% new oak giving structure and complexity. It is aged in bottles to improve the wine’s balance, taking advantage of slow and natural oxidation which allows the wine to open and develop its flavours.
Nose: Notes of dried nuts and fruits like almonds or hazelnuts, citrus fruits, honey, raised by pleasant vanilla notes given by the ageing in oak barrels.
Palate: Rich and full flavoured with subtly creamy oak spices harmonised with citrus fruits. Prestigious flavours with perfect balance.
Food Pairings: Ideal with foie gras, poultry, rich fish, prawns, lobster and blue cheese.
Temperature of Consumption: 10°C to 12°C
