Wine Description & Tasting Notes
Sharpham Wine, have been carefully nurturing and crafting their wines from their Dart Valley vineyards for the past 40 years, and continue this legacy and tradition in their new home at Sandridge Barton.
The Sandridge Barton vineyard was planted in 2008, 3 kilometres downriver from their original vineyard on the Sharpham Estate, and these vines now produce over 80 tonnes of grapes a year from 32 acres.
A subtle oxidative style of sparkling wine produced in the traditional method and matured on the lees for 20 months. Sharpham have built more complexity into the base wine, maturing in French oak and on the lees prior to bottling, which offers up a more savoury style of English sparkling wine.
Nose: Vibrant aromas of baked red apple, sultanas, caramel and lemon peel.
Palate: Dry with flavours of baked apple strudel & toasted brioche with refreshing acidity and a delicate mousse
Food Pairing: Delightful on its own, but loves to be paired with fried food and crisps or summer salads with richer dressings.
